The Eagle Point Fun Land Throwback T-Shirt features a design created exclusively for Dubuque Clothing Co., screen printed on a premium tee with soft, high-quality inks built to last.
Eagle Point Fun Land opened June 30, 1963, billed as "the tri-state's most unique fun spot," built inside an old quarry near the Rhomberg Bridge by Paul Wagner, Leslie Furuseth, and Tom Andresen. Visitors could putt through an 18-hole mini golf course, race go-karts, try archery, ride ponies, or skate at a rink with hinged wooden walls that opened into an outdoor pavilion under blue floor lighting - and yes, there was even a small zoo, complete with a 400-plus-pound African lion named Felix. Rising insurance costs and the 1982 closure of the nearby bridge eventually closed the gates for good, but old-timers still remember Fun Land fondly.
