The Rainbow Lounge Karaoke Bar Vintage T-Shirt
The The Rainbow Lounge Karaoke Bar Vintage T-Shirt brings back a favorite Dubuque bar-night tradition with graphics found only at Dubuque Clothing Co. Like every shirt we make, it starts on a premium tee blank and finishes with soft, high-quality inks for a lasting print.
Karaoke itself traces back to 1971 Kobe, Japan, where a struggling nightclub drummer named Daisuke Inoue built the very first karaoke machine out of a tape recorder, a coin box, and an amplifier so bar patrons could sing along to instrumental tapes. Inoue never patented his invention, reportedly costing him an estimated $100 million a year in lost royalties as karaoke spread worldwide - but it also means the sing-along nights this vintage tee celebrates were free for every bar, including Dubuque’s own, to enjoy.
